On January 6, 2000, I finally made it back to California. I never did make it out in 2000, a victime of TMTD (too much to do) and experiencing a general lack of my usually excellent dog sitting services... However, Liz Baillie was able to come out right after Christmas so for the next few weeks, here I am!

There was a beautiful sunrise over the Lafayette airport this morning. Brilliant reds and oranges. Best I could do is take some photos through the window :-(

The flight was from Lafayette, to Detroit, To Minneapolis and finally to San Francisco. Phew! In Detroit I got to see what happens when one of those luggage trains takes a sharp turn too fast - luggage everywhere. At one point it looked like a shuttle bus was going to plow right through the mess, but the driver swerved just in time.

As for the flight itself, that was uneventful. Long, many layovers, but uneventful. However, it sure was nice to see Paul, Paul Hebert of Intercept Media, when I arrived. Paul's the one who wrote and runs my 'real' website wolfphotography.com :-)

Tomorrow we will both head up to visit some animals! The only problem is the weather. It is supposed to rain the next 60 or 70 days here in California so we may get a bit wet...

For tonight, I'm very happy, spoiled actually. Paul has DSL -- a really good DSL connection at that. I'm downloading MP3s at 78kps Takes about a minute to download two 5mb files!
