Every year I drive up to the Institute for Environmental Learning. Where's that? Way up in northwestern New York in a little town called Lyndonville. They have three Wolf Park wolves there, Rachael, Echo and Ulrich. For those who might be interested, Rachael is a 1991 Altair and Imbo pup, Echo and Ulrich are 1992 Vega and Akili offspring. This year I visited the wolves on April 24th.

Rachael trying to dominate Ulrich. He is the alpha male, she is the beta female who wants to be the alpha female but her pursuit over Echo, has only lead to injury on her part. Ulrich, being a male, tolerates this obnoxious behavior much better.

Here is a little rally between the three wolves. Echo looks a bit peeved by the presence of a threat-staring Rachael. As usual, Ulrich is caught in the middle...

Three wolves all running up to rally to the photographer...

Rachael has faded a bit over the years. I remember when she was jet black!

Echo running up to greet. She was very kissy this day.

A rather close-up photo of Ulrich's eye. Makes for weird wallpaper...

Rachael, a nice portrait, though her one eye is a bit funny. She had a bad bite (deserved) by Echo earlier in the year.
